Details  It’s been a relaxing week and weekend post July 4th and I’ve been splitting my time between relaxing/doing housework/starting projects (yet to finish…)/ hanging out with friends. Sometimes when I’m not being super productive (as in indulging in my second cup of coffee in front of reruns of The Hills) I feel a little guilty, but every once in awhile you just have to submit and let your inner lazy takeover. I do have a new blog design to show for myself, so I guess I wasn’t totally unproductive.

If you’re not familiar with Pacific Northwest beaches, you might be wondering just why I’m dressed in long pants and sleeves. Our beaches aren’t the hot, surfing kind, they’re the windy, kite-flying, wrapped up in a sweatshirt, cozy kind. I actually wore a sweatshirt and flip-flops out to the water and husband and I cuddled with our feet in the waves. Perfect.

You look great! When I go to the beach around here I always bring a sweater! It’s a necessity!

Thanks for your comment, Vivienne :) Packing a sweater is a must when heading to the PNW beaches, but it’s so worth it!

I miss the beaches up north! I used to live in Anchorage, and loved just walking, fully clothed, in the beach. :) I love that bag, Lindsay!

Thanks for stopping by, Laura. I’ve never been to Alaska, but I hear it’s beautiful there. This bag has become a summer staple in my wardrobe. Thanks for your comment :)

Thank you, Sarah! I can’t say it was my thought when I got up that morning, but looking back that makes total sense! It’s hard not to be inspired by gorgeous beaches like that :) Thanks for stopping by.

So jealous. I haven’t been to the beach yet this summer; I definitely need to go.

Also, have you started ‘Night’ yet? If not, count me in to read along with you. I think it may be the only way I get through it! Probably Owen Meany too…

This style is great for the beach. I really like the chambray shirt. There is something so laid-back cool about it.

Thank you for your comment, Bonnie. I love a good chambray shirt. I have another one in addition to this, but I’m always looking at them in stores. I’ll have to check out your site!

You look lovely! I just bought a chambray shirt and I can’t wait to use it. Unfortunately it’s pretty hot in the Midwest so it might be awhile. A chilly beach sounds just fine to me! I’m not much for heat!

Thank you, Bethie! I have heard about that midwest heat from the blogs. It’s been hot here in Seattle lately, too. In the 80s, which is SUPER hot combined with my tiny apartment and too much humidity. Right about now I’m missing the beach breezes. Ahhhh….

Thanks for stopping by!

This is perfect for Seattle beaches! Unless it’s one of those 85 degree days, then I prefer shorts so I can wade!

Sounds like a nice, different kind of beach day… getting your toes in the sand is the most important part anyway.
