Last year, when I interviewed reality star, budding fashion designer and fashionista Lauren Conrad I found myself staring at her eyeliner. Seriously! I couldn’t control myself. I’ve wanted to try it for so long and I’m thrilled to say I finally took the plunge.
Unsure of what product to try, since I hadn’t attempted liquid liner since high school, I was on the hunt for something simple to wield as I got back in the swing of things. I was thrilled to find Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in Trooper (black) thanks to the expertise of one of the gorgeous sales gals at Sephora. When I think Kat Von D I usually think, “Poor Sandra Bullock,” but I have to say this liner has completely changed my thinking. It’s beautifully thin brush tip sweeps across my lids with ease and takes a few extra seconds to dry so I can easily wipe away any errors. And since the barrel is in the same side as the brush, you don’t have the stop to reload midway through lining. It’s a great one to try if you’re new to liquid liner like me.
Armed with Lauren’s book Beauty and now a couple weeks into practicing I feel like I’m really mastering the cat eye. If you’re looking to get the look, watch Lauren in action in the video above. I always learn best by seeing someone do it and she makes it look so easy. Seriously, how does she do it one-handed? Something to aspire to.
Heads up! This is not a sponsored post. The opinions expressed in this post are my own. I purchased the above noted product with my own money and I was not compensated in any way for my recommendation of this product.

I need to master liquid liner too! I’ll try this one out. I’ve heard good things about the brand (despite also thinking of Sandra Bullock when I hear Kat von D’s name).
