Things have been rather busy around here! Husband has been working nonstop including full days over the weekends and on the MLK, Jr. holiday. This gave me lots of time to spend walking around my neighborhood, latte in hand, perusing the historic apartment buildings, local shops and generally reminding myself how I fell in love with it in the first place. We’d been considering moving away so I could be closer to work, but ultimately I think I’ve decided to stay put.
A few years ago, when we made the decision to move back to Seattle, it was Capitol Hill that became my sanctuary in the city. If you’re familiar with the area you may question my choice of words, but I love the bustling, busy streets, the million things to do, the quaint shops and trendy eateries, having a beer where Kurt Cobain used to hang out. To me, it’s pure magic. When I was a kid I used to lay on my bedroom floor listening to Nirvana, Soundgarden, STP, Mudhoney, The Melvins, and dream about going away to college in Seattle so I could walk the streets of these musicians who so changed my musical life. Through all of life’s twists and turns it’s so satisfying to know that one of my major childhood dreams has come true and after exhaustively searching out alternatives, I don’t think I could move away and undo it.

You are a stand out in this fair city, Lindsay. As is that cobalt skirt, and peach of a jacket.
Thanks so much, Bella! What a great compliment.
Loved Seattle when I was stationed there many years ago. Very beautiful city. I should have stayed there.
What branch? Seattle is wonderful. I love this city with my whole heart.
I was in the Navy and stationed at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. I lived in a rooming house in the U district and took the ferry over most days. Was there from 1992 until 1994. Loved the area.
I love your OOTD! – but even more than that, I am so happy to read that you are walking around w/ a latte, living out your teen dreams <3
Ooh! Who knew I was living out a Katy Perry song? Thanks for that! Haha!
So cute! Great pieces. The texture and retro style of the coat are amazing. And those tights are striking.
Love that my purse was cool enough to make it on the blog! And I loved that outfit!
I know it exactly what you mean. I love the city. I love feeling like I’m right in the middle of everything. Having everything so close is just wonderful and I couldn’t imagine moving back to Gig Harvor where I grew up. Everything was so far away!
Great look today. I love the color blocking and that pach is just perfect on you.
Love the glasses!!
