Today’s Outfit (a few days late…): December 18, 2010

Where: Off to the hair salon for a color update, shopping, then on brewery tours at Mac and Jack’s and Redhook with the hubbs and some friends.

Lavender ruffle top, kimono sleeve chunky sweater, skinnies, and black flats: Banana Republic

Orange handbag: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Gloves: Nordstrom

Details:  I’m sorry I didn’t get this outfit up sooner, but I was SO busy that day I didn’t have a moment to get to the computer.  Now that I’m relaxing at my Mama’s house I have a little extra time and am happy to share.  I’m the poster child for BR in these photos, but usually try to mix it up a bit more.  The leather gloves with sweet bow detail were a big purchase for me this year.  I’ve been looking at leather gloves at Nordy’s for the past ten years dreaming of having a pair of my own.  These skinnies are my current favorite and work with just about everything in my closet.  I leave them long over heels and wedges, but usually roll them up with flats to avoid the rain and snow.  I might wear them today in a different way so you can see other ways I make them work.

I have to give a shout out to Liz Murray and the amazing new book about her life story Breaking Night.  If you’re looking for something great to dive into over the holidays, pick this up.  I met Liz Murray this year when she spoke at the Women Helping Women annual luncheon.  She is sweet in person and her speech brought me to tears!  Her book is a must read.
