My first week back from break went fairly smoothly, but the second week? Stressful. I don’t know what it was about the week, maybe it was the bonkers kiddos, plethora of meetings before and after school most days, or a laundry list of new year’s to-do’s both at home and at school, but it felt like it all came to a head last week and I found myself asking, “Is it Friday yet?” nearly every morning. My stress comfort items include coffee in really cute travel cups, yummy smelling hand lotions, and evenings spent curled up with my snuggly cat reinforcing the actual meaning of Netflix and chill. You know, watching Netflix…and actually chillin’.
I wore this outfit to brunch on Saturday morning at a classic Seattle spot, Portage Bay Cafe. I hadn’t been in awhile and thoroughly enjoyed my Joe’s Scramble and some good conversation. Oh, and lots of coffee, of course. I picked up this last week on an impromptu visit to Urban Outfitters where I found it on the clearance rack. Total score! (For some reason it’s still full price online.) Ever since the demise of my old favorite jacket, I have been searching for the perfect bomber jacket replacement for it. This is a bit different than I was looking for, but definitely fits the bill. miss having a detachable hood, but like the zipper on this one much better than the snaps on my old jacket. As you might have guessed, I’m straight obsessed with cropped items lately. Cropped sweaters, tops, and jackets make me feel cute and feminine and highlight my waist whether I’m wearing a miniskirt or skinny jeans (like in this post). Think you can’t pull off cropped items? Try them over skirts and dresses first, and you might be surprised.
