Details Saturday was a glorious day because it was the birthday of my best friend. We celebrated with a little happy hour and dinner and then off to Kenmore Lanes for the ultimate cheesy bowling extravaganza. Those shoes sure didn’t do much for my outfit, but I had a blast! I grew up in a small town where there was just about nothing to do except attend the occasional house party and….bowl.  My HS BFF and I would call all the peeps – he’d call all the boys and I’d call all the girls – and we’d meet at the local bowling alley (where my Mama worked in high school, FYI) and we’d play our little hearts out.

I was hoping some of my bowling prowess would return, but my results were spotty at best.  I broke 100 in the first game with a couple strikes and spares, but with each cheap beer I consumed I got worse and worse.  But hey!  That’s the joy in bowling, right? BFF said it was the most fun birthday she’s had in years so I would consider it a rousing success!  Happy birthday, C.!

Switch it to those sexy shoes!

They look like gum balls…

Can you see it?  It says “Linds” in that fancy script like my L tattoo…  Husband laughed.  Clearly it was the perfect choice.
