Details Today was the last day of Dance Week at the school where I teach third grade, and of course they saved the best for last. Although the kids didn’t have much background knowledge to understand most of the earlier decades, the eighties has come back big in both fashion and music.  The kids already had a love of Michael Jackson (I play music in the mornings when they come in and MJ is always their #1 request) and the side pony (what 8 year old can’t appreciate the side pony?).

When I think of 80s fashion I immediately go to the fifties revival of polka dots and Molly Ringwald pinky-pink, hard edge Madonna clad in black leather and heaps of chains, and my own Mama spending tons of time in the morning helping me perfect the perfectly curled and fluffed 80s bangs.  Ah love.

Here are some of today’s 80s ispirations:

I loved watching Molly Ringwald create her prom dress in Pretty in Pink.

As I kid I once sat in front of MTV all day for a marathon of every single Madge music video.  I love this woman.

Loving these 80s brights! {Source}
