I’m on a major spending freeze right now, focusing all of my efforts on updating everything in my financial life for the better. That, of course, means no shopping. It’s been a great experiment. I did pretty good actually, made one purchase on Amazon which I promptly returned, had a few fun outings with shopping-minded friends and didn’t buy anything but coffee, and spent a few extra dollars on music this month, but I’m shutting that down soon, too, in favor of Spotify. I also sent another bag of clothes and shoes to my friends at thredUP since my last round was so successful.
All that said, I wanted one special treat this month: a shiny new dress for class picture day at school. I ventured to Banana Republic, where I enjoy both an affinity for the brand and a generous employee discount. I found this little number on the clearance rack and got an extra 35% off. I bought the little belt super cheap at Old Navy and have to say I felt like Kate Spade all day long. Just perfect. I see a lot of fun days in this dress’s future. I topped it with an Easter gift from my mama, a thrifted trench cape coat from my favorite store in Spokane (…thanks Mama!). The kids were so adorable and sweet and I found myself start to feel the wistful pangs that the end of the year inevitably brings.
