The weather in Seattle has been anything but predictable lately. So when I had an unexpected sunny afternoon (after a day of downpour, mind you) I had to scrap plans to grade papers to grab some photos. I’m happy I did, too, because I got to throw on this new dress. When I saw it crop up online I knew I had to try it on. Once I tried it on I knew I had to take it home. But sadly since I bought it a few weeks ago, it hasn’t seen the light of day. That is, until these photos. So I guess you can consider this my fake outfit, since I didn’t really wear it this week. But you can trust that you’ll definitely be seeing it again here soon, especially when the weather warms up a bit more.

One of the things I love most about this dress is that it reminds me that lace doesn’t have to be floral. The graphic quality of this lace paired with its placement on this dress, make it so interesting to me. The lace on the hem alone had me at hello. Plus I’ve always been a sucker for dresses with pockets and sleeves. I’ve wanted House of Harlow everything for as long as I can remember. I finally snagged the perfect yellow sunburst earrings on clearance recently at Nordstrom Rack for a steal. After a bit of spring updating though, I’m putting myself on a little shopping ban for the rest of the month. Time to enjoy what I’ve got and start saving my pennies again for a rainy day. Or a sunny one, where I can preferably spend the day at Disneyland. You know… as long as we’re wishing for things.  On a more related note, I’m excited to be attending Stylish in Seattle this Saturday, a Seattle fashion blogging conference put on by my friends Sydney of Sydney Loves Fashion and Alix of Alix Rose. A lot of my blogging friends are involved as speakers and I can’t wait to learn some new tips and tricks. It should be a fun afternoon! If you’re attending, please drop me a line in the comments so I can say hi when I see you!
