It’s nearly here. Spring. I mean, spring, you guys! We just lost an hour and I don’t even care. It’s like my heart got lighter, my stress got manageable, and my overall mood has really improved. I like to think I’ve outgrown my seasonal affective disorder, but then it becomes spring and I feel like a whole new person. Utter joy for no good reason other than it’s sunny? I’ll take it.

I grew up in small town southeastern Washington, Kennewick to be more specific, where it’s 100 degrees all summer and it hardly ever rains. It’s weather heaven. I moved to Seattle at 18 to attend college at the University of Washington and that first fall had record breaking rains that would last over a month in a stretch. It really threw me for a loop. I’ve lived in Seattle for about 11 years altogether, which officially makes me a native, and as much as I love it here, I live for spring.

I’ve worn this dress a million times and this jacket is quickly becoming a favorite. I should probably throw these booties out since they’re falling apart, but I love them too much to let them go. But my favorite thing about this outfit is this beautiful necklace from Michelle Zhou’s little Etsy shop, Dear Michelle. This week I’ll be sharing some of her beautiful pieces in my outfit posts, and keep an eye out for a giveaway coming soon!
