Merry after Christmas, everyone! I hope you had a lovely holiday. I spent weeks decorating my apartment, wrapping gifts, and preparing for my mama and stepdad to visit me in Seattle, but snowstorms and road closures led to a major change in plan. On Christmas day, I boarded planes, trains, and automobiles to spend the holiday with my family in Spokane. It ended up being a happy accident considering I love the snow and there’s just something so wonderful about a white Christmas. Getting a few outfit photos in this winter wonderland was just a bonus.

As a longtime Seattleite, I find it funny that I really only break out my rain boots when it’s snowing. But you know what they say, real Seattleites don’t carry umbrellas, and I must say we don’t really wear rain boots for their intended function much either. Rain boots are  really more of a fashion statement than anything else. I’m loving these fleece gloves that I got from one of my students this holiday and have been wearing them non-stop! I picked up this little red mock turtleneck while out shopping for supplies for my tacky holiday sweater, and thought it was just too cute to tack-ify. I have a feeling it will become a little December staple for me in years to come.

If you haven’t already, take a moment to check out the awesome sales going on right now, most notably at Nordstrom and Banana Republic. Nordstrom is in the midst of their Half-Yearly sale right now and Banana Republic is doing an extra 50% off sale items (60% off in stores!) and 30% off full-price merchandise and both are packed with lovely steals right now. I just picked up this darling Doris Day-inspired dress and this Lorelei Gilmore-ish plaid flannel skirt at BR for a mere $52 total! Yay! I can’t wait to share them in future posts.
