Worn Shirt: J.Crew (similar), skirt: LOFT (tailored) (similar), black tights: Spanx via Nordstrom, shoes: Butter from my MIL’s old shoe store (similar), charm bracelet: Blue Nile (gift from my Mama), necklace: Tiffany & Co.

Details Remember this post?  Ever since I wore this outfit I began to think….could a casual patterned shirt work with a sophisticated black pencil skirt?  The opposite idea of the casual shirt and patterned skirt? IMO the answer is YES. I love this fun top and have found it goes with lots of different looks, but this may be my favorite. This skirt is something I found on clearance at LOFT about two months ago for about $15, but it was two sizes too big. It was the perfect pencil skirt, but the last one so I went for it.  I had my tailor (who is a dream, BTW) fit it to my body which cost $35. Altogether it cost $50, less than buying the skirt full price. It fits me perfectly and is simple in black, yet a bit interesting with the subtle houndstooth print. Suffice it to say I think I’m in love.

I threw on some of my favorite jewelry pieces to finish the look which made me smile all day. As previously mentioned, this necklace is the first piece of jewelry my now husband ever gave me, a Christmas gift the first year we were dating. This charm bracelet is near and dear to my heart because my Mama gave it to me last year when I graduated my masters program and she selected charms that she felt represented me best. Last Christmas she added two more charms to it, and I look forward to adding to it for years to come.
