DSC_1265 DSC_1261 DSC_1256 DSC_1243 DSC_1245 DSC_1249 DSC_1269I don’t know if I’ve ever really shared this here, but I love to sing. I’ve always loved it. I was in many different choirs, took voice lessons, and performed in musical theatre productions in high school and community theatre in my hometown. I strongly considered being a vocal music major, but focused on my mother love, painting and drawing. Lately my singing has been relegated to the shower, my car, and around the apartment while I’m cleaning and what-not. That is, until my friend A. invited me to come sing with him and our friend K. in his basement recording studio. On my first visit I was a bit shy (A. is really talented and K. is an incredible singer and they both write their own music), but this weekend, my second visit, was one of the best nights! I practiced a song that A. wrote and actually (gasp!) wrote my own song. To my surprise they both loved it and it was so fun singing it over and over and talking about how I want it to sound. I’m so excited to write more and more songs and make singing and recording with my friends a more regular thing. Honestly, it’s a little piece of heaven.

During the work week I enjoy being a bit on the dressy side, so when I had a day off mid-week last week for some appointments I enjoyed a little Wednesday casual. I love these jeans, but can’t wear them to work. Love them paired with other denim pieces and shades of blue accessories. These shoes have been my favorites since I got them in… golly… 2003? I wore them to death back then, and have since retired them although I take them out maybe once a year. I should take them in and see if I can give them a tune-up.
