Hey friends! I can’t believe I haven’t posted since May 19th! Insane! I’ve been crazy busy with work and fun so I thought it was high time for a little update.
It’s spring, which means it’s time for field trips! I took this photo of me in Paris (um…Family Fun Center) on fun field trip with the kiddos. I can’t believe the year is coming to an end! | It’s peony season, A.K.A. my favorite time of the year. I usually go for the pink ones, but fell in love with bunches of white peonies in Fremont. | I’ve spent a couple of fun weekends out in Poulsbo at my friend K.’s parent’s place on Liberty Bay. It’s pure heaven out there. | Spring cleaning is a lot of work, but always something I look forward to. I’ve been working on everything from my apartment to my car to my classroom. One of my favorite new ideas was organizing my bookcases by color. Check out some more inspiration on Pinterest. Next up is getting rid of all those CDs. Wish me luck! | I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t been home much. Ruby was very happy to snuggle and sleep in this morning with me here. | In a recent post I told you a little about my musical dreams and adventures in the studio. I’ve been working on a couple of songs with my friends and things are really coming together. I’m thrilled to report my first song includes several instruments including the xylophone, accordion, and some sort of electronic whistle thing-a-ma-jig. Translation? It’s sounding amazing!

It’s been a busy August and beginning of September! Here are some snapshots from Instagram to give you a little update. You can follow me there @lindsayliving.
My birthday party was a real success, especially the dress! // My boyfriend made me an amazing vest for my birthday gift. // I got to see Sister Act with my BFF C. and her mom S. // Ruby is freakin’ adorable. It’s outta control. // A little outfit planning with a side of classroom planning. // I’ve been hard at work prepping my classroom for 21 amazing new second graders! // Boyfriend and I at a wedding the weekend before school started. I love this photo of us. // The best wedding favor ever! Handmade terrariums in vintage teacups. // Ruby really loves RHOC. // OPI Red never fails me. // Enjoying the last days of sunny summer in some big shades. // A walk at Greenlake with a good friend makes working out a breeze.
It turns out getting back into the groove of blogging can be tougher than you think. It’s been such a busy month with lots of fun social events and new friends, but also lots of huge work commitments as the year is coming to a close. I can’t believe I have just seven more days with my littles before I send them off to summer and eventually the third grade. This year went so quickly!
Here’s a little bit of my life lately care of instagram… you can follow me @lindsayliving there, too. My kitty Ruby is having some major health issues, but is finally on the mend. Wish us luck on her speedy recovery! // I get in the habit of eating the same things day in and day out, but I’ve recently integrated a fantastic little omelette into my morning routine. // I teach the kids a lot about the music that moves me and we’ve had a lot of fun getting to know The Beatles this month. // The sunshine on the side of my building makes me giddy! // A quiet evening to myself with my perfect chicken salad in my perfect apartment. // I went sailing on Lake Union with some friends and had a splendid time! I’m hoping to do this again soon…if I’m really lucky. // Moscow Mules happy hour at Sam’s Tavern; they had me a Moscow Mule. // I finally counted how many Essie polishes I’ve collected and rather surprised myself! // At school last week I got to go up 100 feet in a fire truck! It was amazing to be so high up above the school and my students thought I was a superhero or something! // I’ve seen a few great shows lately including the one in this shot, Local Natives.
Some big changes are brewing in the Bradley household. If you follow me on Instagram you may have picked up that I’ve been apartment hunting for weeks. We’ve been thinking long and hard about where we want to be and what we want out of life and have decided to move…a whopping 4 blocks. I’m thrilled about our new apartment and all of it’s charming details. It was built in 1922 and is in the heart of Capitol Hill and filled with light and character (glass doorknobs!). We’re moving in mid-February and I can’t wait to share it along with all of my DIY decorating projects along the way. I’ve been pinning ideas like crazy and can’t wait to get started crafting our new nest.
On Friday night I posted this tweet while out shopping to celebrate the three-day-weekend…
To my surprise I found a sweet response to which I found the perfect window of opportunity to share a little of my shopping woes with one of my favorite local companies.
I love it when twitter brings smalltime shopper and bigtime retail company together. Like two friends sharing ideas over coffee. So if you come to find more fresh colors of (the best!) Spanx tights at your local Nordstrom soon, you’ll know who to thank. My work here is done.
Follow me on twitter and join in my campaign for more fun colorful Spanx today!
September is notoriously a busy month for me and undoubtedly a tough time to get posting here on the blog. Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to this month thanks to the photos on my iPhone…
Organizing my closet for fall and finding a place for everything. This included buying some new hangers… | View of the Space Needle from inside the Chihuly Glass Museum! More to come in a future post. | Creating fun stuff for my new class of second graders. They are the best! | Daily chuckles from his office to mine; husband and I keeping in touch even though our schedules are SO busy right now. | A super fun art project with the kiddos thanks to my best friend Pinterest 😉
